In a world dominated by difference, it’s nice to know there are still those that choose to focus on that which brings us together. After all, choice is the one thing that separates us the most. This weekend we chose to look past any difference for the sake of coming together around a common good: being still and knowing that He is God. When out in nature, it’s hard not to notice the stark differences between animals, plants, and general energy from environment to environment. However, despite the differences, everything seems to be working in complete unison, an energy that is felt but simply cannot be described. Ironically it’s the attempt to categorize that robs Mother Nature of her most unique quality, the unknown. Everyday our modern world seems to get more and more known yet less and less predictable. Why? Nonetheless, this weekend we chose to prioritize unity in the face of disparities. We let the energy of Mother Nature subside our fears of the unknown, using her innate difference to drive our choice for inclusion. Meanwhile our pillars of service, mentorship, and empathy created a collectively effervescent environment that merely added to the foundation that He gifted to His children. Thank you to all who provide our children with the confidence to aspire in the wake of distinction. It is just better when the whole village works together to raise the child.
